After passing the Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2007, Mr. John W. Chung joined LEE & MOCK IP, where he is currently an Equity Partner.
He is primarily responsible for handling international client matters and relations within the electronics department at LEE & MOCK IP. He is involved in developing collaborative relationships with foreign clients and IP law firms through regular visits and participation in international conferences.
Mr. Chung’s areas of practice encompass patent prosecution, trials and litigation, freedom-to-operate (FTO) and infringement analysis, client counseling, intellectual property (IP) due diligence for M&A transactions, and assignment/licensing negotiations. He has represented domestic and global corporations in patent prosecution and trial cases.
Mr. Chung is an active member of international IP organizations, including APAA, AIPPI, and INTA and served as an executive director of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA) from 2020 until 2022. He has also served as an executive director of APAA since 2018 and leads a Korean group of the APAA Patents Committee.
