Ms. Hyein Kim is a patent attorney with an academic background in electrical engineering. Having passed the Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2021, Ms. Kim began practicing at LEE & MOCK IP in 2022, focusing on intellectual property matters in the field of telecommunications standard patents.

She primarily handles 3GPP standard-related patent matters for a major Korean electronics company, including domestic and foreign patent prosecution, patent specification drafting, claim review, foreign filing strategy, and Office Action responses in connection with 4G LTE, 5G NR, and 6G mobile communication technologies, particularly in the areas of RAN1, RAN2, and SA/SR.

Ms. Kim’s practice covers a wide range of standard-based telecommunications technologies, including MIMO, beamforming, CSI feedback, reference signals, radio resource control, UE operations, network procedures, sidelink, satellite communications, IoT, and next-generation wireless communication technologies. She has developed expertise in analyzing the core technical features of standard-related inventions and translating them into effective patent claim scope.
